2018 project made during the Artist in Residence at Studio Kura
Pursuit of Motion is a new series within an ongoing research of shapes and silhouettes and the idea of positive and negative forms. This is a pursuit of motion in the sense of zooming in on the interplay between traditions and modernity – this time using the traditional Japanese kimono as a main source of inspiration, exploring the dynamics of its form but also analyzing the limits of its movement. Diving into the past and present of this garment, and play with its silhouette in order to develop new wearables.
Exhibition Pursuit of Motion on 24 and 25 March 2018 at Studio Kura, Itoshima, Japan.
