Rice paper
2014
This cutlery is inspired by the idea of using an edible material to make the tools to eat a meal. I chose rice paper because of its charateristics to easily be cut and shaped, the way it absorbs colors when dipped in a certain liquid, and the plastic like hardness of the material when it dries. For this series, I made a few variations and colored the pieces with carrot, coffee, red cabbage, spinach and beetroot. The transparency of rice paper is a beautiful quality which I used in layers to create different kinds of patterns in the cutlery pieces.
